Asma is passionate about helping others and developing talent. Her extensive leadership experience helps her support delegates in an informative, responsive and practical way. Lots of humour and enjoyment mixed with insightful personal development.
Asma’s background is in education, with over 20 years’ experience of leadership. Until 2010 she was the Principal of a unique 11-19 secondary school, which she set up in 2006. An experienced trainer, Asma is adept at delivering training programmes in different aspects of leadership and management. Her understanding of the challenges of leadership and change management means that she is gifted in supporting colleagues facing the pressures that leadership brings.
For the last five years Asma has pursued her love of learning. Following three years training in psychotherapy at The Berne Institute, she is now an advanced student of Organisational Transactional Analysis, as well as a Master Practitioner of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) and a qualified Leadership Coach. Her focus on raising self-awareness and helping colleagues communicate better is a key driver in all aspects of her work.
Relating with ease invites others to do the same and enables energy to be channelled productively. This is vital in the context of leadership and Asma has helped numerous organisations take a fresh look at their culture, systems and common frustrations, supporting them in developing a framework and language of improvement.
Asma has a BA in History, plus an MA and Postgraduate qualifications in Leadership and Coaching. She trains and coaches at a national level working with a wide variety of professionals in the public and private sector. She continues to work closely with local authorities, Trust boards, schools, colleges and universities and is a regular speaker and writer in the education press.
Since joining Impact Factory in 2011, she has focused her considerable skills on Leadership, Line Management, Communication, Change Management, Negotiation, Personal Impact, Storytelling, Resilience, Interview Skills Coaching, Facilitation and Influencing. Some of the clients she has worked with include Access Bank, QPX Mining, Financial Conduct Authority, Environmental Agency, Signet Jewellery, Electoral Commission, NHS, Medical Research Council and NBC Universal.
When is not working, Asma enjoys spending time with friends, family, watching films, listening to music and most of all reading and pondering.
