Presentation Skills

The key to making a good presentation is to make sure that you, the presenter, are in fine fettle - first and foremost. If you're in fine fettle then everyone else in the room will be as well because they are taking the lead from you.So what will help you to be in fine fettle?
First, we need to look at what could stop you looking after the very person who matters most in a presentation – you! It's possible that your inner critic may very well tell you things like,
-
'a presentation should be...',
'a presentation should look...',
'you're not supposed to do x, y or z in a presentation',
'when you present you're supposed to...',
And if your attention is on your negative inner critic then you're not going to be okay with yourself.
If your attention is directed to engaging your audience, seeing what they need, focusing on what you do well... then you will be in fine fettle.
My Approach to Presentation Skills
So my approach is one where we'll look at what you do like, what you do have and what you can already do. And we'll have a ball finding all of that stuff out.If you're already working with what you've got then you know what? You'll be fantastic! And if you're fantastic, then everyone in the room will feel fantastic. Job done then – with bells on!
My work in the acting world as a performer, director and acting coach has given me much experience of what it is to be in front of an audience with the pressure firmly 'on'. I have guided many individuals through what they have available to them in these presentation-like situations.
As an Associate at Impact Factory I have worked on a range of presentation skills programmes for a range of different companies, including Burger King, ED & F Man, Montanaro and NYK Logistics.
