Graham Bennett – Leadership
Leadership Coach
Graham Bennett is Impact Factory's longest serving Senior Training Consultant and has been responsible for creating and delivering many of the company's core programmes as well as leading a huge variety of our work.Equally comfortable in every sector, Graham works with organisations from large multi-nationals to local authorities to small charities. It is his instinctual understanding of what people need, his humour, his spontaneity and willingness to go 'off piste' that makes his work in the training room exciting, daring, exhilarating.
Gravitas and fun are two words that describe Graham's style and are the foundation of his talent as a leader and his skill in running leadership programmes.
Graham is an actor but has also honed his leadership capabilities as a director. He has said that taking his company of 6 actors to Sweden and directing Romeo and Juliet was like one long leadership workshop held over two months. He needed to hold the big picture, work to tight deadlines and respond to peoples' needs in different ways as those needs arose.
His view about leadership in general is that a good leader articulates issues, visions, solutions on behalf of others so that they are able to follow; people give permission to the leader to set the agenda that they will then go with.
Here's what Graham has to say on the subject: "A strong leader is able to communicate powerfully and persuasively and come across with empathy towards the people they are leading. They have to be prepared to reveal something of themselves, raise their head above the parapet and put themselves in the line of fire."
"Leaders don't have to be great in the manner of someone else, but need to be able to understand, shape and deliver a vision until it becomes reality."
This is also why Graham thrives in the tightrope-walking world of improvisation where he never knows what's going to happen next and flourishes on the freedom to see what's needed and have a go whether it's 'successful' or not.
As well as running our Leadership programme, Graham is a master at Train the Trainer, Presentation and Public Speaking, Building Business Relationships, Customer Facing among many others.
