Tina Lamb – Leadership
Leadership Training and Development
My journey to become a LeaderI am now a Senior Training Consultant and Head of Open Courses here at Impact Factory and in those capacities I find myself sometimes leading courses, campaigns, teams and meetings but this did not come naturally to me and certainly wasn't what I expected or planned in life.
My first experience of Leadership, in any conscious way, was of my father and he being a military man, personified a style that was hierarchal, steeped in tradition and extremely effective. When I first ventured into the adult world and at the grand old age of eighteen, I borrowed money and bought an Italian restaurant on St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands. My leadership style there was built on natural communications skills, necessity and a passion for what I did - I got by for six years, but it wasnt pretty.
On my return to London I finally fulfilled my ambition to study for three years and become an actress. Over the next seven years I had the pleasure of working with some truly inspirational directors. They taught me that Leadership could be an adaptable thing, cajoling some, challenging others, dictating to one person but surrendering to another but ultimately uniting a group of people to deliver a vision. It also taught me that some leaders smoke too much, listen too little and dont have a clue what theyre doing such is life!
When my journey led me to Impact Factory, I finally had the chance to see what style of Leader I might really become, and it is this sense of curiosity I endeavour to bring to the leadership work I deliver today.
Im interested in encouraging people to be the type of Leader that suits them to not be afraid of vulnerability and to know how that is different from weakness, to develop a strength that is not over bearing but still will not always be appreciated. These are the things that interest me.
Of course, if it is possible to do work like this and still have a lot of fun, then you can put that on my mission statement too!

Recently a delegate said of Tina "She ran a masterclass on masterclasses. I was shown the DNA of communication".
