We are born Leaders?

Doug ardently disagrees with this statement.

Some people are born into situations that will help their journey, but he believes nature can be modified so dramatically by nurture that all things are possible - almost without regard for these beginnings - after all why work in personal and professional development if you thought things were that fixed? One of Doug's firmest beliefs about Leadership is 'If there is a will then there is a way' and the only essential quality is perseverance.

Rumi said our cup of joy is defined by our cup of pain; exploring our boundaries as a leader allows our cup to deepen - this requires courage and brutal honesty at times. Doug's curiosity, sensitivity and awareness are a powerful combination that allow delegates to experiment and trust that if (and when) they fall they can pick themselves up, laugh, understand and expand. Leadership development requires vulnerability and humour, Doug truly brings this to all his work.

He encourages and holds a space where tightropes can we walked and boundaries can be pushed.

Doug says' I came to Impact Factory after fifteen years in the music business, I had worked all over Europe, I had done four years of deep personal development work, loads of therapy, a weird mixture of survival courses and transformational processes. The three or so years in the internal training programme has given me the most enormous developmental boost.......it's been absolutely brilliant!'

Doug walks his talk...'that's all you can do' he says 'Integrity and honesty are paramount' Our Leaders are forged, from the inside out....it works, and we do it, bit by bit, every single year or so, adding another to our team.

At Impact Factory Doug has developed a body of work around managing pressure, and also specialises in Negotiation, Influencing and Personal Impact. Doug also has a busy West London Therapy Practice, hold a Practitioner Diploma in Clinical Hypnosis, is currently in his first year Masters in Psychotherapy and Counselling at London's Roehampton University.

In his six years at Impact Factory he has worked across many sectors, especially engineering, research and finance. His clients include BNP Paribas, Wolters Kluwer UK, Balfour Beatty, Carillion and Panasonic. Doug's background in chemical research and media strongly underpin a fun analytical approach with drive and that key quality perseverance.
