Creativity and Innovation Programme

Cycle of Creativity to Innovation

Exploring the journey from Creativity (generating ideas) to Innovation (making ideas real and usable) begins with:

Delegates bring an idea, project or problem they want to work on during the session.

They then begin a dynamic and unique process called the 'Cycle of Creativity to Innovation'. During the process delegates will identify how they personally approach and experience the creative impulse.

Generating Ideas - Five windows of creativity

It's not a question of 'how creative are you?' but rather 'how are you creative?' This process illustrates Impact Factory's central principal of working with what already works about you.

The 5 windows represent different approaches to the creative process and help to identify your individual creativity. By understanding the 5 windows we can also look through a different window for an alternative perspective. By using different aspects of our creative mind we can generate more choices.

We have developed this highly effective tool as a process to slow down the 'Too smart Too soon' effect of the first solution or idea. Often we can quickly find an appropriate solution that will work but is often not the best or most innovative. By using different aspects of our creative mind we can generate more choices.

Pitching and Presenting your ideas with passion

Having creative ideas and innovative solutions is not enough. We have to be able to communicate our concepts and get buy in.

We are more likely to get buy in for our ideas if we present them with conviction. Delegates will explore how to convey their ideas in a way that connects with others on an emotional level using passion.

Forming the Innovation

The final processes will focus on bringing to life innovative solutions to the issues brought into the session by the participants.

Pairs go back to ideas generated in illogical combinations or 'Pass the Creativity Baton' and design a product. This process acts as a warm up for the next stage where participants tackle a work related problem or issue they have brought adapting the 'Cycle of Innovation' process as a problem solver. This will result in participants producing several innovative solutions that will be both relevant and usable.

Wrapping Up

Participants are given an opportunity to pitch their best ideas from the day to the group in our light hearted version of the 'Dragons Den'. This process is both fun and enlightening as we begin to explore each idea using our 'Innovation Evaluation Tool.'

Delegates are then invited to share what they discovered on the Creativity and Innovation Workout about their personal approach to creativity and what they found useful. They then identify where they might begin to apply the techniques back in the workplace.
