General Coaching Experience and Background

I am Senior Partner at Impact Factory and I love what I do.

Previously I worked at the BBC for 15 years as a reporter and presenter. I covered the whole gamut from news to features including a lot of travel (lovely) and lot of tough interviewing in consumer affairs (also fun). The scariest times include being locked in a room by militant Rastafari, the luckiest - being a cowgirl in Canada, the most pressure- a live audience of 54 million.

I trained as a Person Centred counsellor, graduating from Metanoia Institute in 2005. I am working towards BACP accreditation. I have held a regular client list for the last 8 years and worked with a huge variety of presenting issues including trauma, abuse and anxiety.

My Approach as an Executive Coach

I am a Person Centred counsellor and my work as an executive coach is underpinned by five yeas of rigorous training. I have a strong belief in individual autonomy and direction, whilst also fitting and thriving in a competitive and demanding corporate environment. My way of working involves contracting around aims and goals, clear boundaries about responsibilities for the coach and coachee, and a depth of knowledge and experience from which to draw on from my work as a communications trainer, counsellor and individual.

As an Executive Coach I offer good listening skills, in a supportive and non–judgemental environment. I also have an ability to robustly reflect back what I see, to help clients realise their own strengths and blindspots. Executive Coaching, which differs from therapy in focus and aim, allows coaching clients to explore work-related issues and how they impact on them professionally. It is rare that this does not also knock on to effective personal development.
