Dannie Carr, Associate

Dannie lives a creative life. She has an extensive background of work in performance as an actor, director, writer, voiceover artist and acting facilitator and an equally extensive background in business and education. Dannie is wholeheartedly committed to a creative approach for all levels of personal and professional development.
Dannie's first real sense of business began at the tender age of 15 when she helped run her family's butcher business which developed a strong determination and drive. Even then she began asking questions about what makes people tick individually and what happens when they come together.
She moved into theatre and TV where she began her acting career and went on to do her BA and PG Dip in Acting and Performance. Her work as an actor has included theatre roles from Shakespeare to Brecht and her TV and Radio work has often ended up in the sci-fi world, including the featured role of Morli in two audio series of the Doctor Who spin off, Dalek Wars. Her distinctive voice (and accent!) can be heard on TV and radio adverts and trailers.
Dannie's work as an acting facilitator and director has given her great experience in working with groups. Her approach is spontaneous with an emphasis on group dynamics as well as the core meaning of the work being directed. This has resulted in some heart racing projects and some incredibly brave and inspiring work, both live and recorded.
Speaking of racing hearts, Dannie is also a committed runner and has completed the Great North Run as well as the London Marathon.
She is very passionate about the Creativity and Innovation work here at Impact Factory. Her involvement with other programmes such as Presentation, which looks more at the impact of the individual, and Managing Change, which looks far more at the group energy within a company or team, has given her a chance to take a closer look at how people are creative on their own through to how they are creative as a group and how different behaviours might play out in any group process or situation.
Dannie's other background in customer services, lecturing, outreach, marketing and events has also enabled her to acknowledge creativity and innovation within the business and education world and has a sound understanding for how the principles can sit with people. She believes that with creativity work, it is about what is already there; it is about living in the 'is' world rather than the 'should' world. By allowing people to work from where they authentically are at any given point in time, creativity is given the space to thrive and teams are given the opportunity for ideas and growth.
Other training Dannie delivers at Impact Factory include Communication, Assertiveness, Customer Service, Coaching, Personal Impact, Facilitation, Line Management, Change Management, Public Speaking, and Presentation as well as, of course, Creativity and Innovation.
