Liz McKechnie – Personal Leadership, Presentation Skills, Performance Management and Interview Skills

Personal Leadership, Presentation Skills, Performance Management and Interview Skills

Liz has 30 years experience as an actor and film acting coach. Starting in the corporate sector, initially as a private coach in presentation techniques, Liz went on to develop her courses offering training in all areas of interpersonal skills and effective communication. She is now a Senior Partner at Impact Factory.

Liz studied drama at Manchester University which provided her with a BA and a great platform from which to embark on her career as an actor. Since then, she has established a long list of credits in theatre, film, and television ranging from her work with the Royal Shakespeare Company through many TV comedy and drama series, as well as in feature film. Alongside her work as a performer, Liz has enjoyed designing and teaching a degree course for opera students at the Royal College of Music and at Mountview theatre school. She continues to run a highly successful course in screen acting for professional actors. She has adapted some of these exercises in physical and vocal training tools for use in the business world.

Liz loves working and having fun with large groups and her up front experience as a performer, keynote speaker, and workshop facilitator is particularly useful with a larger audience. She is often asked to speak about communication and leadership issues on radio (most recently on Womans’ Hour BBC Radio4) and in a conference setting such as the BP Helios awards.

In smaller groups her style is warm and insightful. This empathetic approach is highly valued in Leadership Skills, Presentation Skills, Personal Impact, Train the Trainer, Coaching and Performance Management Training and Appraisals.

Liz also runs our Open Body Language Course, Interview Skills, and Influencing and Negotiating Course. She is particularly interested in individual leadership styles and personal branding.

Liz is an experienced executive coach. Her approach is intuitive and client centred. She is happy to work in a one to one format with clients as part of an ongoing long term coaching process or to prepare for a one off interview or presentation.

Some of the clients Liz has worked with include Partnerships UK, Ingenious Media, HM Prison Shared Services, The Royal Marsden Hospital, Epsom and St Helier Hospitals, Suffolk NHS, UCLH, Merrill Lynch, Anchor Housing, Fidelity Investments, Chanel, Corus, Mittal, Whitehead Mann, Inmarsat, BP, and the Disability Rights Commission.

Liz uses her film expertise on the other side of the camera, now, with access to her own highly experienced production team she offers the use of film as part of our bespoke training programmes or to support clients’ internal or external marketing initiatives. Promotional or Corporate films can be made, for use on clients’ websites or intranets or for a larger screen.

Clients using film in different ways include FEREF, Ultimate Travel, Stable Events, Braben PR, Hallmark TV, Ingenious Media.

Liz lives in North London. She has two children and an ever changing menagerie of pets. She has one novel published and is presently working on a survival book for young actors.
