Liz McKechnie – Creativity and Innovation

Creativity and Innovation

With 25 years in the 'can' as an actor and film acting coach Liz joined Impact Factory in 2004 as an Associate. We are delighted that Liz has become our most recent Senior Partner.

With a deep well of creative experience and passion for her work Liz has studied, in depth, the complexities of human behaviour on stage and screen. She is fascinated by the outward show we present to the world and how that reflects our underlying feelings. In other words all aspects of how on earth we humans communicate with each other.

Liz loves working and having fun with large groups and her up front experience as a performer and workshop facilitator is particularly useful in a Conference or Teambuilding setting.

In smaller groups her style is warm and insightful. This empathetic approach is highly valued in Presentation Skills, Personal Impact, Train the Trainer, Coaching, Performance Management Training and Appraisals, and Media Skills.

Liz is an experienced voice coach and is happy to work with small groups or in a one to one format.

Some of the clients Liz has worked with include HM Prison Shared Services, The Royal Marsden Hospital, Merrill Lynch, Fidelity Investments, Chanel, Corus, Mittal, Whitehead Mann, Inmarsat, and the Disability Rights Commission.

Liz also runs our Open Body Language Course

Starting in the corporate sector fifteen years ago initially as a private coach in presentation techniques, Liz went on to develop her courses and her company, Staged Events, offering training in all areas of interpersonal skills and effective communication.

Liz studied drama at Manchester University which provided her with a BA and a great platform from which to embark on her career as an actor. Since then, she has established a long list of credits in theatre, film, and television ranging from her work with the Royal Shakespeare Company through many TV comedy and drama series, as well as in feature film. We are used to seeing her pop up on the screen in various different guises.

Alongside her work as a performer, Liz has enjoyed designing and teaching a degree course for opera students at the Royal College of Music and at Mountview theatre school. She continues to run a highly successful course in screen acting for professional actors. She has adapted some of these exercises in physical and vocal training tools for use in the business world.

Liz lives in North London. She has two children and an ever changing menagerie of pets.

She has one novel published and is presently working on a survival book for young actors.
