Julie brings warmth and wit to her role as Partner at Impact Factory. As an ex-journalist she is also a most valuable addition to our team.
With a wealth of experience drawn from the worlds of drama and education, journalism and publishing, she is also the lead trainer for a number of private, public and charitable organisations. As well as working for a number of blue chip companies, she has also worked for The Arts Council, The Media Trust, The British Film Institute, Southwark Council, Heinemann and Collins Educational.
Julie spent 8 years working as a journalist within BBC News and Current Affairs teams and twice as many as a senior teacher, youth theatre director and advisory teacher.
Like her Impact Factory colleagues, Julie has an eclectic CV. From selling vintage clothes at Camden Lock market and crewing on yachts in the Mediterranean, to cleaning aeroplanes at Schiphol airport, from researching for Jeremy Paxman to directing community theatre on the North Peckham estate, she's a sucker for a challenge. Bags of energy together with her downright sheer cheek mean she can also claim to be a successful self-publicist too!
As well as running courses in Personal Impact, Influencing and Customer Service, Julie has used her journalistic expertise to provide Impact Factory with Building Compelling Presentations, as well as a variety of Creative Business Writing workshops. These included a series of in-depth Business Writing with Impact courses for Fidelity which took her to India. Her current focus combines her love of sailing with her passion for teambuilding in developing powerful Teambuilding programmes.
As the plate-spinning mother of three teenage daughters she is on a constant quest to balance her time between the fruitless pursuit of the hormonally challenged and escaping to her beloved beach hut to sail. 'Bob', the favourite of her fleet of battered vessels was recently lovingly restored and is now ready for some real adventures.
The ultimate antidote to her life at Hormone City is however closer to home. Julie combines her dual role as THE most embarrassing parent with being the lead female singer for The Tones, soon to be headlining at a party or club near you!
