London Borough of Tower Hamlets - Award Certificate in First Line ManagementLine ManagementIn 2007 Tower Hamlets was accredited as an ILM (Institute of Leadership and Management) Centre able to offer a comprehensive range of management qualification programmes to its staff.ILM qualifications in First Line Management comprise the Award, Certificate and Diploma qualifications. Tower Hamlets managers and aspiring managers can begin their skills development with an Award Qualification where participants attend an in-depth nine day programme run over six months. The Award qualification ‘aims to give practising or potential first line managers the foundation for their formal development in this role. The qualification does this by developing basic management skills and assessing candidates in gaining the basic knowledge required at this level’ Programme content includes Study Skills, Communication, Problem Solving and Decision Making, Leadership, Managing Performance, and Coaching and Training the Team. With Tee at the helm, Katherine Grice and Joe Britto are the Impact Factory team working on this intensive introduction to first line management and they and the candidates are currently mid-way through the first ever Award qualification programme.
